Y’all, how is it October already?
What a rollercoaster of emotions this week was. There was some deep rage-grief that got stirred up when BTS announced their LA concerts. It’s like, the rest of the world is moving on, while we’re still trapped in hell. Only a very privileged group of PH ARMYs can fly to the US to watch it; if they do an Asia tour, we’re not welcome in many of the surrounding countries either. I had very very bad energy for a couple of days about it; I’m sure it’ll keep flaring up as tickets go on sale; as the concert date draws near. To be clear, my anger isn’t at BTS or even at the ARMYs who will be flying to the US for it. It’s at this government and DDS enablers. They’re the reason for our shit pandemic response and if I think about it too long I’ll start raging again.
Meanwhile, it was a good week for other stuff. I felt my work mojo coming back - when things are clicking, I get into a zone, and magic flows out of my fingers. It was really good to feel that again, that it’s still accessible to me. That I haven’t lost that touch completely. Considering I was deep in a valley months ago, this is a significant win.
Currently...
Celebrating my best friend Den winning her first Emmy! Huge! It’s for the musical score of Primates, a BBC documentary. Wish we could be celebrating together :(
Working at my sister’s for some semblance of “office.” It’s helped me sleep earlier, so I can wake up earlier.
Enjoying TXT’s first online concert, which I watched with my ARMY friends. They’re so talented! I really enjoyed their performances and look forward to more from them.
Starting Hometown Cha Cha Cha on Netflix. Aia’s post convinced me that it’s extremely up my alley and checks all my boxes for a romcom. I finished episode 2 and look forward to catching up so I can participate fully in the group chat.
Eating cathedral windows jelly! Back in my life! Delicious as ever. @thebandanabaker enjoy :)
Listening to Taylor Swift’s folklore on Apple Music using HYBE in-ears. A revelation! Can’t wait for her next album re-release in November.
Figuring out some storage stuff, which has been bothering me since middle of this year. Making space for new things. Cleansed energy, come to me.
Splurging on some swimwear because dress for the body you have, not the one you want.
Jungkooking (exercising) thrice. I am noting it here because I really pushed myself past laziness this week and I’m proud of myself for this.
Grieving the closure of my yoga studio. It was my happy place for many years and I had built my morning and weekend routines around it. Huhuhu. The government has taken so many things away from us.

The Surveillance Apparatus That Surrounded Britney Spears — Alessa Rodriguez, BuzzFeed.
I watched both the Netflix documentary (Britney vs Spears) and the second episode of the Hulu documentary (Controlling Britney). Recommend both, because they talk about different aspects of the situation. I don’t know how anyone can finish any of these and not be so angry on her behalf.
